This week we’re proud to crown Shona McDonagh as All Abroad UK’s prestigious member of the week. (hey, it’s pretty serious stuff you know). Shona gives us an insight into her life in Dublin, so if you’re in Ireland or thinking about moving there, Shona is happy to answer any questions you may have.

AAUK: Where are you originally from?

Shona: I'm from the Goldie, i.e the Gold Coast Queensland, Australia.

AAUK: Where do you live now & how long have you lived there?

Shona: I now live in Dublin, have lived here since March 2011.

AAUK: Dublin; nice! Why did you decide to move there?

Shona: I was sick of life in Australia, and had extended family in Ireland so decided to see what life over here was like! Best thing I ever did! Scary but worth it!

AAUK: What do you miss most about life back home on the Gold Coast?

Shona: Most definitely the weather and the beach!

AAUK: What is it you do for work in Dublin?

Shona: I’m the Marketing Manager for Zumo Juice & Smoothie Bars, we've bars conveniently located across Ireland, UK and Europe. Shameless plug :)

AAUK: What are your favourite things about living in Dublin?

Shona: Just how close everything is compared to Australia and how cheap and easily accessible travel is here. I love it!

AAUK: So, you have the travel bug do you? Have you done much traveling then?

Shona: Yeah, you could say that… I have seen quite a lot of Europe and America. I’ve also been to the Canary Islands, Egypt, Israel and Jordan. Absolutely loved Egypt!

AAUK: So what other exciting holiday destinations have you got planned?

Shona: I'd really love to go to Malta. Always wanted to go there, the history facinates me.

AAUK: Finally, What is the most annoying thing about living in Dublin?

Shona: Well that’s an easy one – it’s the weather! I've been cold ever since I arrived!
